The reporting location for this position is 1150 Carroll Avenue in San Francisco. This position includes maintaining 78 acres of landscaped and recently added grounds of wetland restoration. The incumbent will be responsible for the care of turf areas, ground cover, shrubs, trees, naturalized areas and trails. This includes mowing, pruning, removal of exotic plants and cultivating of nursery stock for specimen replacement. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs sprinkler controllers, sprinkler heads and irrigation pipes. Operates and maintains a variety of power tools including chain saws, weed eaters, power saws, drills, etc., Operates and maintains trucks, forklift, tractor mower, chipper, seeder, and spreader. Serves as lead person and provides training to various seasonal employees, contractors, and court appointed workers assigned to groundskeeper functions. This is a great opportunity to work in San Francisco, in a park that will be under-going change and development. The incumbents work schedule will be Tuesday to Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
