Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager, Administrative Services, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) is the primary contact for all course registration issues at the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) San Luis Obispo. The incumbent must be able to logically and creatively analyze and resolve a broad range of complex governmental problems. Gather and analyze data to develop and evaluate alternatives for a variety of administrative and program related areas, making recommendations to management on those alternatives; communicate effectively orally and in writing and function in an environment with changing priorities. The incumbent works independently while maintaining a large workload and responding to frequent short-term tasks.

In the event of an emergency:
Cal OES is an emergency response and disaster recovery agency and as a result, is a dynamic and exciting place to work. Cal OES provides training to enhance the understanding of emergency and incident management to all employees. As an employee, you may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee’s official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites.

Eligible candidates who are current State employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former State employees who can reinstate into this class, or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. All methods of appointment, including Training and Development Assignments (T&D) may be considered. Appointment is subject to SROA and State surplus policies. Surplus candidates must submit a copy of their surplus status letter.
