The Air Resources Board is a dynamic and innovative leader in improving California air quality. ARB's Office of Information Services (OIS) develops and maintains many of the web-based and mobile applications our researchers, scientists, and enforcement staff rely on. OIS, winner of 'Best Mobile App' strives to give developers opportunities to grow and use new technologies to meet ARB's business needs. ARB leads the way in virtualized computing, providing developers with cutting edge development environments and hosting support to help them succeed.
Significant development is currently underway to automate the Enforcement Division's business processes and associated e-commerce activities. Additional developers are needed to work in teams to create applications using MVC 5.0, Bootstrap, and Entity frameworks.
The Senior Programmer Analyst (SrPA) will architect enterprise-level solutions and medium-sized applications and relational databases uses C# and SQL, Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio 2013, and SharePoint 2013. The SrPA will mentor a small team of skilled developers and work with a business analyst to solicit requirements, code, test, and deliver working segments of the application over time using an Agile process. In addition, the developer will collaborate with peers and management to improve or better use the existing development methodology, tools, code library, and best practices.
Advanced design skills and experience creating design and development artifacts.
Advanced SQL database development skills.
Ideally, experienced in MVC 4.0 or 5.0, Twitter Bootstrap and Entity frameworks (training available).
Experienced in using and ideally, administering Team Foundation Server.
Windows administration experience a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build good rapport with customers, co-workers, and management.
Strives to recognize team members when they do well and guide them to better performance and understanding as needed.
Communicates issues and proposed solutions in a timely manner and role models a positive attitude.
