Under general direction of the Data Processing Manager III, the Senior Information Systems Analyst (Supervisor) is responsible for managing the tasks of the Service Desk Unit’s Desktop Support, Phone Support, IT Asset Support, and COTS Support Teams located within the Infrastructure Support Services Section (ISSS) of OITS, which consists of between ten and twenty subordinate analysts, technicians, and contracted aides. The Service Desk Unit performs a wide variety of information technology (IT) activities in complex networked and independently-managed computing environments in support of CDFA’s computer systems.
Provide expert-level leadership, support, and direction to the Unit staff; plan, organize, and delegate workload to Unit staff based on area of Team responsibility; establish work priorities and determine timeframe for completion to facilitate timely completion of tasks.
Establish, maintain, and communicate separate processes, procedures, roles, responsibilities, goals, and deliverables for each of the Service Desk Unit’s Teams.
Provide expert level technical guidance to the Unit staff to ensure effective and timely solutions are delivered in response to incident and service requests regarding the most complex information technology systems.
Serve as a systems expert and project lead for OITS staff in conducting the most complex system changes or upgrades for business process improvement and services.
Prepare reports for IT management addressing specific goals, objectives, and timeframes, as well as any procedural changes and improvements required to meet strategic goals and objectives of the Department.
Define project scope, requirements, milestones, and deliverables, and conduct reviews and prepare management reports for ongoing support and maintenance of the most complex information technology systems.
Oversee and evaluate performance of staff, complete probationary reports, prepare and document individual development plans, and prepare performance appraisals as required by CDFA policy in a timely manner and with appropriate content.
Independently monitor and manage Service Desk, Phone Support, and IT Asset Support activities, ensuring that all requests are responded to in a timely and effective manner; review Service Desk calls to ensure customer satisfaction and to identify opportunities for improvement.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS :
Expert-level knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of supporting networked and standalone PCs and computing practices, desktop, server, and network application software, client/server infrastructure system components and operating systems, network protocols and routing, and network security practices and principles.
Incumbent must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of the work, work well under pressure, make appropriate decisions and well-thought out recommendations, work independently in completing assigned work, and meet required deadlines.
