The reporting location for this position is Butte College in Oroville. This position will work under the direction of the Staff Services Manager III in the Training Section. This position will assist in the coordination and delivery of the Ranger/Lifeguard Basic Visitor Services Training Program at Butte College and other locations. This position will also help facilitate other Department training classes throughout the state. This is an excellent opportunity to learn new skills in a wide variety of settings. Responsibilities include supervisory oversight of the cadets and the coordination of instructors, records, equipment and supplies. We are looking for an enthusiastic employee who demonstrates high ethical values, leadership skills and works well as a team member. The incumbent must have the ability to communicate effectively with tact and discretion and work successfully with a wide variety of organizations. The candidate for this position will be required to travel. The successful candidate will also attend the POST Certified Recruit Training Officer course. The successful candidate hired via an examination list will be appointed for 12 months, with a possible extension of another 12 months. The successful candidate must maintain list eligibility in order for the limited term assignment to be extended for the second 12 months. State housing is not available.
