Job Description: POSITION: The Secretary of State, Political Reform Division is seeking a permanent, full-time Executive Assistant/Office Technician (Typing). The incumbent will report to and assist the Division Chief, as well as provide support for Division administrative, supervisory, and analytical staff.
DUTIES: Under the direction of the Division Chief, the Executive Assistant provides administrative and secretarial support on a wide variety of issues utilizing knowledge of program and administrative policies and procedures. The Executive Assistant keeps management apprised of current issues; develops and maintains a system for planning, tracking, and monitoring Division projects; performs research in preparation for meetings; coordinates and attends meetings and prepares minutes; maintains the Chief’s calendar; makes travel arrangements; drafts correspondence; serves as attendance coordinator; reviews and prioritizes incoming telephone calls; and maintains administrative and correspondence files.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Exercise a high degree of initiative and independence of action, tact, and good judgment. Ability to work well under pressure, handle changing priorities, meet deadlines, and in a timely manner research and provide advice based on recognizing relevant information. Possess strong organizational skills, solid communications skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.

Appointments are subject to State Restriction of Appointment (SROA) provisions. We will consider hiring an Office Technician (Typing) for recruitment purposes.
