Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Supervising Tax Auditor I/II, it is the responsibility of the Tax Auditor to review, analyze and or/adjust the less complex sales tax returns, local and district tax schedules, field auditor reports and taxpayer accounts in accordance with the state, local, and district tax guidelines.

Knowledge of general accounting, auditing principles, and procedures. Business law and related practices surrounding contracts and sales. Sales and Use Tax Law and Regulations. Bradley-Burns Uniform Sales and Use Tax Law. Transactions and Use Tax Law. Local and District tax distribution and policies. Registration and Return payment system w/ability to make appropriate changes to local and district tax distributions. Business practices related to retail, wholesale, and manufacturing activities.
