Job Description:
NOTE: Although the duties reflect the Associate Governmental Program Analyst level, for recruitment purposes, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) classification will be considered and the duties and salary will be adjusted accordingly.

The Board of Equalization (BOE) Acquisitions Branch is seeking a highly experienced Contract Analyst to join our dynamic team. This is a fast-paced, exciting office that supports a key revenue-generating agency with Constitutional authority. Under the direct supervision of the SSM I, the Contract Analyst develops the more difficult and technically complex contracts.

A team player dedicated to customer service is essential. State contract experience and extensive knowledge of the State Contracting Manual is required, and familiarity with Fi$Cal is a plus. Applicants must have strong organizational and interpersonal abilities, and be able to coordinate multiple projects. The Contract Analyst must also have extensive DGS CalPCA training. This position may be called upon to train less experienced staff and act on behalf of the manager in their absence. This limited term position may become permanent if funding is approved and/or workload is permanently established. Will also consider hiring highly qualified Staff Services Analyst. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.

Special Requirements:
In addition to the STD 678, a no more than two-page typed response to the following questions must be submitted with your application.

1. Describe your knowledge and experience regarding the State acquisition of more complex and difficult information technology (IT) goods and services, and non-IT goods and services.

2. What are the various resources used to support and guide the processing of acquisitions in the State of California?

3. Much of the BOE, Acquisitions Branch work is performed in a team environment. Please describe your work experiences as a member of a team, including your role on that team. Include any experiences as a team lead.

4. What was the delegated purchasing authority you performed your acquisitions under?
