Job Description:
The Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Branch (NEOPB) is currently seeking to fill one Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) position. Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) II, the SSM I directs, oversees, and supervises the activities and staff of the Fiscal Services Unit (FSU). The SSM I directly supervises two Associate Governmental Program Analysts, one Management Services Technician, two Staff Service Analysts and one Associate Accounting Analyst. The FSU houses all of the financial and budgetary management functions for the Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Branch. The SSM I oversees a wide array of financial functions, including the day to day management of budgets, financial management, accounting, invoicing, tracking and other accounting related activities. The SSM I also oversees completion and submission of all drill responses for NEOPB. NEOPB is a large Branch with an annual budget of over $126 million from at least 5 different funding streams and more than 150 state and contract staff combined. Describe your vision of leadership and/or any management experience you have related to training of staff, mentoring, team building, providing employee morale, workload distribution and progressive discipline. 3. Summarize your experience overseeing accounting systems and fiscal operations for State programs. 4. Describe your ability to consult, advise and gain confidence of department management. 5. Describe your ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
