The Centralized Revenue Opportunity System (CROS) Project is an information technology modernization effort to replace the Board of Equalization’s (BOE) legacy mainframe-based revenue and collection systems, to develop an enterprise data warehouse, and to expand online services. BOE collects taxes and fees that provide revenues that provide essential funding for state government and for California’s counties, cities, and special districts.

Are you interested in being on the ground floor as a whole new information technology system for the BOE is designed and built?

Interested in transforming raw data into meaningful and useful information? Handling large amounts of information to identify and develop new revenue opportunities? Developing and implementing effective strategies designed to improve California’s long-term fiscal stability? Are you interested in analytics, information reporting, knowledge management, business process management, and data mining?

If so, the CROS Project has place for a motivated Senior Information Systems Analyst on its Business Intelligence Team.

Job Description: Under the general direction of the Data Processing Manager III, the Senior Information Systems Analyst (Specialist) acts as a project leader on the most complex information technology systems for the CROS Project, the largest and most complex IT project at BOE. The incumbent independently serves as a project leader for various information technology activities including but not limited the identification, analysis, coordination and reporting of business intelligence. The Senior Information Systems Analyst (Specialist) independently works with business programs to identify opportunities to generate revenue or improve efficiencies through better use of BOE’s data assets. The incumbent prepares data sources for loading into CROS data warehouse and operational data stores. The Senior Information Systems Analyst (Specialist) provides reports to management as needed, tracks develops and maintains information technology documents, tools and reports for the CROS parallel initiatives. The position is located in a high-rise building.
