DUTIES

Under the general supervision of a Child Nutrition Supervisor II, the incumbent will provide support to the Northern Field Services Unit (NFSU). The incumbent provides administrative support specifically as follows:

  • Performs a variety of technical duties such as: creating new forms for the NFSU; reviewing, typing, and editing outgoing correspondence for grammar, accuracy, punctuation, and format
  • Acts as one of the primary points of contact for out-stationed staff that work in over 15 offices throughout Northern California
  • Facilitates the dissemination of information to all Field Services staff to coordinate various activities within and outside of the Nutrition Services Division and the California Department of Education. Frequently contacts the public, coordinating the various functions of the Field Services staff
  • Processes NFSU attendance; mails, faxes, scans, and e-mails correspondence; and, updates and distributes the weekly itinerary
  • Processes NFSU travel claims and advances; arranges travel accommodations; and, performs other duties as required to support the NFSU

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work independently, and as a team member while effectively prioritizing important tasks, and juggling multiple priorities.

In addition, current or future executive orders relative to filling vacant positions may also affect this process. The NFSU may consider Office Assistant (Typing) candidates for recruitment purposes. Applications will be screened and only the most qualified will be interviewed. The individual selected for this position may be required to present a valid typing certificate prior to appointment.
