Job Description:
The Business Programs Division (BPD) is recruiting to fill a permanent, full-time Office Technician (Typing) in the Business Entities Records/BPD Budget Section.

Answer, screen, and route telephone calls received in the administrative area for the Section Manager, Analysts, and other administrative staff. Telephone duties include answering program specific and/or simple filing or records information questions and maintaining a familiarity with current laws, rules, policies and procedures pertaining to the Business Programs Division. Process and maintain personnel attendance and other related personnel records. Prepare, process and track work orders, contract, repair, maintenance, and training requests. Prepare supply and equipment orders and maintain inventories of supplies and equipment needed to ensure efficient operations. Act as liaison with Human Resources, Information Technology Division and Business Services, as needed. Act as an Office Automation Division Coordinator for the section. Provide general administrative support to the Business Programs Division. Act as backup to other Office Technicians performing similar functions when needed and/or required.

Desirable Qualifications:
The Business Entities Records/BPD Budget Section is seeking a flexible and energetic person with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of departmental staff and the public. Strong communication skills are a must, as is the ability to meet deadlines, take initiative, work independently and serve on teams. Punctuality and good attendance are essential. Candidate must have knowledge of and experience with all Microsoft office applications, and basic knowledge of computer equipment and operations.

Employees who are currently in the Office Technician (Typing) classification or have current list, transfer or reinstatement eligibility for a permanent, full-time appointment to this classification.
