Job Description:
Team member, Local Area Network (LAN) and PC Support unit: Under the direction of the DPM II and technical leads, performs a variety of tasks involving networked desktop, laptop, and printer support. Provides technical assistance, support, and service to customers for PC operating systems, applications software, printers, remote access, and LAN and Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity. Activities include all aspects of network production support, such as troubleshooting and resolving technical problems with desktops, laptops, printer systems, remote access, and network connectivity. Other tasks include preparing and setting up systems by imaging, installing applications, performing pre-deployment quality control testing of desktop and laptop systems and participation in IT related projects. Desirable Qualifications include: experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting and resolving problems with network connected PC's, printers, peripherals, monitors, video terminals and related devices. Knowledge of features and functions of operating systems, applications, office suite software, remote access, and network connectivity. Knowledge of infrastructure connectivity including cabling, hubs, switches, and controllers, etc. Must be able to establish and maintain effective team-building relationships with management, staff, and vendors. Must be customer service oriented. Must be self-motivated to meet stringent workload and project deadlines, and be prepared to work independently within an overall team framework, when required.
