Job Description:
Under general direction of the Supervising Tax Auditor (STA) II, the Associate Tax Auditor (ATA) performs the more difficult and complex audit functions including field and desk audits of sophisticated inter and intra related companies. The ATA will analyze complex business records, correspond and discuss the application of tax/fee laws with taxpayers, attorneys, accountants, and BOE staff. The ATA may also lead and/or train other lower level auditors and review field auditor reports. In addition, the ATA may prepare summaries and statements of fact for use in hearings or court proceedings. The position may require up to 50% travel, both in state and out-of-state, including overnight travel. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
