JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of the Systems Software Specialist III Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for those activities relating to building and deploying complex, large-scale software packages in support of the software development lifecycle. The incumbent must have expert knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices including knowledge of system design, development, test, and implementation of large-scale, complex IT systems. The incumbent must have expert knowledge of large scale, complex IT system automated deployment techniques and best practices. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating, configuring, and performing the more complex large-scale software deployments. The incumbent is expected to work cooperatively with bureau and Technology Services Division (TSD) technical staff in support of planning and software implementation activities and promotes an environment and atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation consistent with the department’s values among staff and managers. The incumbent promotes, establishes, and maintains relationships with representatives from across different divisions within the department.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience on a large-scale system development project as a software developer or configuration management team member.
Experience with software build automation technologies such as Jenkins, Maven, and Ant.
Experience debugging and troubleshooting software compile, build, and release errors and failures and facilitate resolution.
Experience using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and/or Unix Shell Script.
Experience managing multiple software source code branches executing tasks such as branching, merging, and continuous integration.
Experience with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Ability to perform detailed analysis, define technical problems, and recommend effective solutions.
vExcellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple project priorities and workloads.
Ability to shift priorities and/or workloads in order to achieve project goals.
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical, planning, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
