Under the close supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator I, the Business Taxes Representative (BTR) will learn, perform and master all phases of research and identify work related to resolving issues on tax returns and schedules. The BTR reviews tax returns, reviews taxpayer correspondence, communicates with taxpayers, performs return maintenance functions, processes relief from penalty cases and assists lower level staff on the more complex billing and adjustment cases. The incumbent will provide assistance with tax laws, regulations, annotations and provisions relative to the fee programs administered by the Special Taxes Policy and Compliance Division. The incumbent will educate and provide assistance to taxpayers in written correspondence and over the telephone. Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
