Under the general supervision of the Supervising Tax Auditor III, Program Policy and Administration Branch of the Property and Special Taxes Department (PSTD), the Business Taxes Specialist II (BTS II), serves as a lead on and coordinates multifaceted tax program projects. The incumbent will be responsible for developing policies and procedures with other Board units, state government agencies, other state revenue agencies or the federal government. The incumbent will be responsible for complex special projects, preparing written correspondence on the application of tax and fee laws with tax/fee payers; participate in the interaction with Board management, Board member staff, accountants, tax managers, directors, accounting firms and attorneys. The incumbent must have complete knowledge of all aspects of the Special Taxes Policy and Compliance Division’s functions, software and mainframe applications utilized by the Board, the appeals process, audit process, compliance process and collection functions, procedures and protocols of the various Board units. In addition, the BTS II will need to be familiar with the regulatory, legislative and budget processes administered by the Board. The position is located in a high-rise building.
