The reporting location for this position is Silver Strand State Beach. The position is assigned to Silver Strand State Beach, Border Field State Park & Tijuana Estuary. The incumbent may at times, work or assists at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and San Pasqual Battlefield State Park as directed. This position is responsible for the care of turf areas, ground cover, shrubs, trees, planter boxes and gardens, and irrigation systems throughout the sector. The incumbent will operate various lawn mowers, trimmers, chipper, and other grounds related tools and equipment. Familiarity with pest management, equipment maintenance, drip irrigation systems and xeriscape practices are desirable. This position will lead and work with seasonal employees, Volunteer Groups, Community Work Release Program, CCC, CDF, Inmate Rehab Program etc. The incumbent’s schedule will be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm five consecutive days a week and may be required to work on some holidays as assigned.
