Under general supervision from the Supervisor, Computer Audit Specialist Unit, the Business Taxes Specialist I works independently, with minimal supervision, to provide technical audit assistance and support to field auditors conducting audits or reviews of taxpayers with complex, electronic accounting records. Through use of specialized training and software, the Computer Audit Specialist performs analyses on large volumes of accounting data. The unique role of the Computer Audit Specialist as one who bridges the gap between tax auditing and information systems requires exercising considerable tact, technical competence, and interpersonal skills to gain taxpayer’s cooperation and promote the working efficiency of the audit team. Extensive Out of State travel will be required (over 50%). The Computer Audit Specialist may perform other job-related duties as required. The incumbent will receive $346.00 per month pay differential. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
