Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, Physical Security Section, the analyst performs a wide variety of analytical staff services with knowledge of privacy rights and experience in handling sensitive and confidential information in an electronic communication network. Incumbents should be experienced in providing a high degree of customer service with knowledge of technology concepts, principles, terminology, and applications. Incumbents are responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and maintaining the BOE’s physical security program including building security access, identification cards, fingerprinting, emergency preparedness and response, crime prevention, and annual fire and bomb drills to ensure quality control, confidentiality, and integrity of the BOE’s workforce. Proficiency with databases, computer software programs, and technology are required as incumbents will perform digital Live Scan fingerprinting for BOE’s Headquarters. Full working knowledge of the control security system, CCURE, is desired as incumbents are responsible for managing employee access levels by activating and deleting access card keys from the access control security system. Responsibilities include conducting on-site physical security reviews, acting as a liaison with the Department of Justice and serving as a liaison with the California Highway Patrol to obtain security services for BOE hearings, board meetings, and special requests. Occasional travel to BOE’s field offices to perform Live Scan fingerprinting will be required. The position is located in a high-rise building. Travel required 10% of the time. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
