Under the Caltrans Supervisor or employee acting for them, incumbent will perform various tasks associated with the maintenance of the State Highway system including operating and maintaining equipment. Will work irregular shifts including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays. Required to work in a wide range of sometimes extreme conditions, including heat up to 120 degrees, and cold to 15 degrees, strong winds, sleet and snow. Will be required to work overtime due to storms, emergencies, or special projects and other related duties. Generally in summer months the work week is 4/10's with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.
Must have civil service status as a Caltrans Equipment Operator II (CEO II) or employment list eligibility on the CEO II list.
