The Board of Equalization is looking for a motivated individual who has :
• Knowledge and experience with network and host-based security strategies and methodologies;
• Incident response and Information Security awareness and education;
• A strong technical background with experience and knowledge of application layer security;
• Superior written and verbal communication skills;
A general knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, intrusion detection/protection, Security Incident Event Monitoring log analysis, active content, malware, defense in depth, and separation of duties.
Under the direction of the Manager, Information Security Office, the incumbent is responsible for project consulting to ensure required security controls are designed and implemented in the Board’s systems. Other responsibilities for this position include planning, selection, and testing security software/hardware products required to support the Board’s local and remote technical environments. As a subject matter expert, the incumbent will provide technical assistance related to security technologies, vulnerability scans, and network integration of security requirements. Acts as a team leader in coordinating the efforts of a task force of organizational and/or industry representatives. Possession of one or more information security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, GIAC desirable. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. This position works in a high-rise building. Multiple positions are available.
