JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Data Resources and Services unit has an opportunity for a Lead Data Specialist (Lead) possessing strong organizational skills, the ability to manage several assignments simultaneously, and the ability to work on highly confidential and time sensitive requests. Under the general direction of the manager of the Disclosure and Data Resources Section, the Lead directs the Contract Management Team and is the primary contact for the department for data exchange contracts. The Lead is also responsible for the reporting requirements and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with the Internal Revenue Service. Additionally, the Lead acts as the subject matter expert on the audit process and may review audit case data to make determinations regarding the disclosure of audit data. The Lead works with the section managers and senior specialists to develop new safeguard audit techniques and plans for use in various programs. The Lead also provides technical guidance and leadership to section and department staff on the most complex tax administration laws, prepares written reports; and makes recommendations to senior management relating to the use of confidential data in the department’s tax systems.
