JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of the MidWest Region Program Manager, the incumbent will function as the Area's audit program's leading authority in the area of multistate and multinational corporation tax.
Act as lead on audits and program consultant to field staff on audits of the largest and most sensitive groups of affiliated corporations, engaged in an integrated business in a specialized industry, with unique and unresolved tax issues.
Analyze audit cases to determine specifically the reasons for delay in completion and recommend alternative approaches to complete the audit.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Strong, in-depth technical knowledge in the Multistate Audit Program (MSA).
Ability to provide technical leadership and staff development on the most technical and complex issues.
Ability to create and maintain positive and productive working relationships with FTB staff and taxpayer staff at all levels.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of Water's-edge law and regulations.
Experience with specialized industries.
