The reporting location for this position is Saddleback Butte State Park in Lancaster. This position will work under the direction of the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger). The primary focus of this position is on visitor services operations of the high desert parks of the Mojave Sector which includes Saddleback Butte State Park, Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve, Antelope Valley Indian Museum State Historic Park, Arthur B. Ripley Desert Woodland State Park, Tomo Kahni State Historic Park and Red Rock Canyon State Park with duties including interpretation, law enforcement, visitor service operations, and volunteer coordination. Due to the small staff size in this Sector and demands in the District, the State Park Peace Officer (Ranger) will on occasion assist with programs in other Sectors in the maintenance and administration programs. This position is pending Executive Personnel Review Committee approval. State housing may be available.
