Job Description:
***This is a Peace Officer Position. To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer. If you are not a current peace officer employed by a State of California agency and in possession of a POST – Basic Certificate, you are not eligible for this position and must apply to take the State Park Peace Officer Cadet (Ranger/Lifeguard) Exam when offered.  For further information regarding your rights and eligibility please visit the Department Link listed below before calling or emailing the listed contact.***

The reporting location for this position is San Luis Reservoir at the Four Rivers Sector Headquarters. This position will work under the direction of the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger). San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area includes three lakes, four campgrounds, and a large day use area. This position offers a full range of responsibilities including, but not limited to, campground/day use operations, law enforcement, resource management, participation in education/interpretive programs and special events, and aquatic patrol. This position may serve as a lead person for seasonal personnel. The incumbent may also provide support to other units within the Sector. This position offers a motivated State Park Peace Officer (Ranger) a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of park operations. This position is pending Executive Personnel Review Committee approval. State housing is not available.
