The reporting location for this position is Headquarters in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Deputy Director for Administrative Services. As the section manager, this position handles the most difficult and sensitive assignments in the Budget Section as well as having knowledge of all assignment areas. Supervises a staff of three Staff Services Manager II and eight analysts working on assignments in the support, local assistance, capital outlay and bond functions. This position oversees preparation for the Department's annual budget instructions, Budget Change Proposals, DPR’s portion of the Governor's Budget and Salary Supplement and all supporting documents. The Budget Officer develops and maintains cooperative, collaborative relationships with DPR field personnel, the Department of Finance, Legislative Analyst's Office and Legislative staff. The Budget Officer is responsible for preparing regular budget updates for the Executive Staff and making recommendations.
