The reporting location for this position is the Channel Coast District Office located in Ventura. This position will work under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist. The primary focus of this position will be implementation of the Dune Restoration project at McGrath State Beach. The incumbent will also be part of a team providing analysis and recommendations regarding natural resources and natural resource protection that are in keeping with Department policies, procedures and standards. This position will together with other Resource Team members, field staff and multi-disciplinary experts collaborate in the development and implementation of strategies and activities needed for delivering services. The District is looking for a self-starter with strong leadership skills who can work in a collaborative environment blending their professional expertise with other team members in fulfilling the District's natural stewardship role. Experience with use of technology in the field data collection and resource management, GPS/GIS, Grants, CEQA, NEPA, and strong interpersonal and communication skills are desirable. This position may work up to 1500 hours per year. State housing is not available.
