Under the direction of the Deputy Labor Commissioner III, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, Public Works Compliance Monitoring Unit (CMU):
Conducts reviews of source documents to determine compliance with prevailing wage requirements, compares source documents to electronic certified payroll records submitted; reviews electronic certified payroll records for deficiencies and contacts contractors to correct minor errors in reports.
Audits certified payroll records for violations and prepares audit reports.
May conduct field audits to verify contractors’ business practices by interviewing contractors’ office personnel and verifying authenticity of source documents.
Provides results to investigator for follow up on more difficult audits, works with investigator to corroborate violations and gain compliance.
Provides information to the regulated public for compliance with prevailing wage laws, and other duties as assigned.
