PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Statewide Learning and Performance Management program at the California Department of Human Resources is seeking an enthusiastic, talented, dependable, customer service oriented, and results- driven individual with a great attention to detail and an ability to assist state employees seeking training services. CalHR offers convenient transportation options, including light rail, pre-tax parking, on-site ATM, shopping, a variety of nearby restaurants and a farmers market during spring and summer. This position is excluded from Collective Bargaining and receives enhanced benefits.

DUTIES: Under general direction from the Statewide Learning and Performance Management Staff Services Manager I, the Office Technician (OT) provides support to the training program by answering phone calls, e-mails, and processing registrations for training classes. This position also assists with processing invoices, classroom and webinar set up, reproduction of training materials, and issuance of completion certificates. The OT performs at the advanced journey level, demonstrating a high degree of independence and initiative. The position must be present in the office to serve our on-site classes.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

• Reliable, independent, self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage work, change priorities and work cooperatively in a team setting.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Maintain professionalism and trust in handling sensitive and/or confidential information

• Ability to provide outstanding customer service

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy when keying in data while demonstrating great attention to detail
