**LIMITED TERM WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF BECOMING PERMANENT**
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Performs a broad spectrum of skilled electrical work necessary to maintain or renovate the electrical network system sited on the grounds of the Center. Under the supervision of the Electrician Supervisor, the incumbent may act as a lead person over a Building Maintenance Worker or other unskilled assistant such as Electrical Apprentice, California Conservation Corps member, or other employee assigned to perform electrical work. Physical labor is an essential component in remedy of most Plant Operations related conditions. The incumbent must be able to go up and down stairs and ladders, and traverse crawl spaces under buildings and above ceilings, and descent into excavations bringing with tools and supplies necessary to repair the system being services. An incumbent must possess a driver’s license and the physical ability to drive electrical shop vehicles and operate power tools safely and effectively as well as being physical capable of working at a rate sufficient to carry his or her fair share of the workload. The work entails routinely encountering clients and interacting with staff throughout the facility, thus sensitivity and a tolerant even temperament is required. There exists a broad spectrum of communicable pathogens in this client population thus a basically sound state of health and immune system is necessary as well as good precautionary hygiene practices to safely work in this environment. The incumbent must be generally available to return to the Center during off work hours in the instance of an electrical emergency.
