Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief, Office of Victim and Survivor Rights and Services (OVSRS), the Staff Services Manager I/Victim Services (SSMI) is responsible for the planning, prioritizing, controlling and provision of overall workload direction. Provides technical guidance and direction to staff in the interpretation and application of laws, standards, policies and procedures relating to the area of victim services in corrections and throughout the criminal justice system. Prepares reports, issue papers, BCPs, legislative proposals and final reports. The SSMI will also act as a liaison for the Department which includes providing public hearing and legislative documentation as well as liaison between high-level management and the OVSRS. Additionally, the SSMI supervises analysts/students and performs the most sensitive and complex assignments.
25% Plan, prioritize, supervise, control and provide overall workload direction of the office's analysts/students. Select, train, develop and evaluate staff and overall program performance.
25% Provide technical assistance, guidance and direction to staff in the interpretation of laws, standards, policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all mandated constitution and statutory requirements as well as regulatory matters with Office of Administrative Law.
25% Assist in the preparation for release of reports, issue papers, budget change proposals, legislative proposals, final reports and statistical and support documents generated from advisory committees, planning sessions and working groups. Present final products to directorate and administrative staff in written and verbal formats.
20% Act as liaison/coordinator between high-level management and the OVSRS; represent the Department on external and internal committees and commissions.
5% Other duties as required.
