Duties and Responsibilities:


Under the direction of the Assistant Hospital Administrator:

Makes rounds of inspection at fixed intervals and reports in by means of two way radio, telephone or other communication devices; turns out lights; verifies that doors and windows are properly secured and locked. Monitor video surveillance system and maintain recordings. Respond to all alarms and provide escort services to the first responders. Greets visitors and directs them to appropriate functions/unit; provide general information regarding the Home, general admission requirements, and availability of tours or other activities. Prevents the admittance to the premises of unauthorized persons, and maintains the front desk sign in and sign out sheets.

Investigates unusual conditions. Write incident reports. Maintain shift log. Issue parking permits and maintain permit log book.

Answer and direct incoming telephone calls to appropriate extensions and neighborhoods, taking messages in the absence of the Receptionist. Prevents damage to State property and enforces various State regulations, and laws pertaining to CALVET, Building Security and State Administration Manual.

Inspects electrical devices and plumbing, heating, and other equipment for proper adjustment.
