Title: BUSINESS TAXES SPECIALIST I, BOARD OF EQUALIZATION Salary: $5,328.00 - $6,670.00 Posted: 09/13/2013
This position is located in Riverside, CA. Under general guidance of the Supervising Tax Auditor II, the BTS I is responsible for reviewing and processing audit reports and field billing orders performed by the audit staff as well as assisting auditors in the field. Also responsible for reviewing and processing audit referrals to Board of Equalization out of state and district offices, as well as reviewing and processing audit leads from the audit staff. The BTS I will also prepare responses to inquiries regarding law, Board policy and Board procedure as well as other duties that may require the expertise of the incumbent including reviewing an assisting in the resolution of petitioned cases and handling special projects as necessary. The position will require the incumbent to regularly come into the office to prepare the monthly reconciliation of audits and investigations status reports. The position may require the incumbent to travel overnight for training requirements and Reviewer meetings. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
