This Tax Technician I position is charged with the screening of source leads received for potential use tax liabilities for the Consumer Use Tax Section Taxable Activity Types (SA, SB, SI, and SP) and directly reports to a Business Taxes Compliance Supervisor II. Duties include: Review of documents received from various sources, such as, the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Federal Aviation Administration, The United States Coast Guard and the Department of Treasury as well as sources from district audit staff; review of microfilm/CD copies of DMV registration documents; access to and review of on-line FAA registration documents for aircraft via a secure FAA web-site; creation and maintenance of Client/Taxpayers in the Client Taxpayer System (CTS) of IRIS and accounts in the Consumer Use Tax Registration (CUT) system of IRIS; other duties as may be required including, but not limited to, training of other staff. Desirable qualifications include strong multi-tasking skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, and a familiarity with Personal Computers. Please include exam results with application.
