JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the supervision and general guidance of the Discovery Analyst Administrator I in the Fraud and Discovery Section, you will be responsible for assisting the day to day operations necessary for FTB to fulfill its contractual obligation to provide enforcement support to the California Tax Education Council (CTEC). With professionalism and tact, you will assist in the administration of the education and enforcement activities related to the provisions of the California Business and Professions Code §22250-22259 (The Tax Preparer Act). Under direction of the CTEC lead you will maintain and enhance cooperation and communication with CTEC, working together to ensure tax preparer compliance with CTEC registration requirements. You will work a variety of internal and external resources to identify unregistered tax preparers, educate them on their requirements, penalize them if necessary and forward findings to CTEC for action as provided by the Tax Preparer Act.
