Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent will be responsible for performing all tasks associated with processing a variety of the department’s contracts. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: evaluate contract requests to determine appropriate bidding methods and applicable contract rules and regulations; provide consultative services to all customers on contracting issues and assist line programs with justification statements and specifications development; develop bid packages, evaluate bids for compliance with bid specifications and contract requirements and make appropriate contract awards; and take necessary steps to resolve issues. Other duties as required.
Required skills include strong analytical, writing and organizational skills; ability to work within short time frames. Desirable qualifications include the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment as well as independently; and knowledge of the State Contracting process.
Non-SSA candidates who are eligible to transfer to the SSA classification must pass the SSA transfer exam or have eligibility on the prior SSA written exam prior to appointment. Candidates from the Life Experience Questionnaire relying upon a 4 year degree must submit a copy of their transcripts with their application.
Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full time appointment. Salaries for part-time and/or intermittent appointments may vary. “This position(s) may be subject to allocation approval by the Human Resource Branch.” A training and development assignment will not be considered.
