The reporting location for this position is Castle Crags State Park located in Castella. This is a heavily-forested park unit that is subject to severe winter storms, flash-flooding and downed trees, requiring the incumbent to be proactive, vigilant and hardworking, often under adverse conditions. This position is responsible for the ongoing maintenance operations, including facility housekeeping, resource protection, and equipment maintenance. This position leads seasonal employees, volunteers and inmate crews. This is the only full time position in the park. Self-motivation, strong organizational skills and the ability to work without direct supervision are highly desirable. The incumbent’s work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A current California Class ‘C’ Driver’s License is required. State housing may be available.
