Job Description: Position may become permanent if permanent funding is approved; project/workload is permanently established.
Under the close supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator I, the Business Taxes Representative (BTR) will
learn, perform and master all phases of research and analysis work related to resolving issues on tax returns and
schedules. The BTR analyzes tax returns, reviews taxpayer correspondence, communicates with taxpayers, performs
return maintenance functions, processes relief from penalty cases and assists lower level staff on the more complex
billing and adjustment cases. The incumbent must also be proficient with tax laws, regulations, annotations and
provisions relative to the fee programs administered by the Special Taxes Policy and Compliance Division in order to
educate and provide assistance to taxpayers in written correspondence and over the telephone. Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
