Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Audit Supervisor of the Motor Carrier Office, Special Taxes Audit and Carrier Division, the incumbent performs the less to moderately difficult level field audits as mandated by the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA). The incumbent should be familiar with word processing and spreadsheet personal computer programs or be willing to learn how to use them. The incumbent should be prepared to learn the, IFTA Articles of Agreement, IFTA Procedures Manual, IFTA Audit Manual, Diesel Fuel Tax Law and other Board laws, regulations and procedures applicable to the IFTA program. The incumbent will also be preparing correspondence involving the taxpayers and private industry representatives, related to California’s IFTA program. The incumbent will also be developing and producing reports and schedules related to the IFTA audit program. The incumbent may be required to travel less than 50% of the work time, primarily to in-state locations. Training and development assignments may be considered. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
