The reporting location for this position is the Ocotillo Wells District Headquarters in Borrego Springs. This position will work under the direction of the District Senior Park and Recreation Specialist. This position is the lead person for the resource management maintenance crew, which is part of the District natural resource management team, tasked with carrying out a range of field and resource management and resource maintenance-related duties at Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA), Heber Dunes SVRA, and at a new acquisition area included as part of Ocotillo Wells SVRA. The incumbent must possess knowledge and skills required for exotic plant removal and fencing. Leadership and organizational skills, as well as developed skills in landscaping, fence building, purchasing, project planning, and a willingness to work in a positive team environment with State Park natural and cultural resource specialists are highly desirable. The incumbent will lead staff as well as CDF crews and volunteers. This position requires possession of a valid Qualified Applicator Certificate (or higher certification) from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.
