The reporting location for this position is the Southern Communications Center (SURCOM) located at Lake Perris State Recreation Area in Perris. This position will work under the direction of the Communications Supervisor. SURCOM is a 24-hour public safety dispatch and communications center with a service area covering Southern California from San Diego County to San Luis Obispo County. The incumbents will dispatch State Park Peace Officers (Rangers and Lifeguards), Department of Fish and Wildlife Wardens, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Officers, Santa Monica Recreation Conservancy Officers, and other emergency service personnel in the SURCOM service area to emergency and non-emergency events. The incumbent’s duties will include operation of two way radio console systems, telephone, California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS), and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) as well as Department of Fish and Wildlife CalTip Calls. This position requires successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation and medical examination. There are two vacant positions available. State housing is not available.
