The reporting location for this position is One Capitol Mall in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I. California State Parks’ Accessibility Section seeks a highly-motivated individual to assist the Department in meeting its programmatic and technical obligations for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This position offers the incumbent a unique opportunity to help implement new and existing strategies for accessibility to recreational settings and activities. Specific duties of this position include but are not limited to developing and analyzing accessible policies, plans, and agreements; developing and implementing training programs; creating and maintaining up-to-date website information; and providing accessibility consultations. Desirable qualifications include demonstrated organization skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Those with experience in the administration of accessible programs are encouraged to apply. Approximately two to five travel days per month may be required. This position may be downgraded for recruitment purposes. State housing is not available.
