Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director, Property and Special Taxes Department, the Business Taxes Specialist II acts as a technical advisor on special taxes related program matters and coordinates multifaceted tax program projects. The nature of the issues may be politically sensitive and/or confidential. Workload involves multiple functions, accordingly the incumbent must have complete knowledge of all aspects of the Board’s Property and Special Taxes functions, headquarter functions, collection techniques, hardware, software and mainframe applications utilized by the Board, the appeals process, caseload management, procedures and protocols, the Board’s audit and compliance functions, and regulatory, legislative and budget processes. The employee must be able to work on developing policy and procedures with other Board units, state and local government agencies, other state’s revenue agencies or the federal government for statewide or intergovernmental programs. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
