Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator II, the Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs professional accounting work in the establishment, maintenance, research and analysis of accounts and financial records for the Revenue Branch. Considerable contacts are made with Board offices, the Budget Branch, the Cashier Section, the State Controller’s Office (SCO), the State Treasurer’s Office, the Bureau of State Audits, and various State departments. Knowledge of computer software programs, good communication, interpersonal, analytical, and customer service skills required. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
Educational requirements: Equivalent to graduation from college, with specialization in accounting or completion of the equivalent of 19 semester hours of course work including elementary and advanced accounting, auditing, cost accounting, and business law. Applicants must submit a complete Standard State Application (STD. 678) and include college transcripts.
