Job Description:

Duties:  This position includes operating radio and telephone equipment.  Dispatching appropriate officers and resources to incidents.  Answering incoming telephone calls from the public, allied agencies, officers and the media.   

Desirable Qualifications:  Must be able to maintain a good rapport with employees, peers, supervisors, allied agencies and the public.  Reporting to work on time with a minimum of absences.  Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.  A positive attitude.  Ability to take independent action.  Confidentiality is essential in the position.  This classification requires a net typing speed of 40 words per minute.  

Who may apply:  Persons currently in the PSD classification who are eligible to transfer, should submit a CHP 220, Request for Transfer, to the contact person below.  The most senior same-class transfer who responds by the final filing date shall be selected. 

Person eligible to apply must be on a certification list, eligible to transfer, voluntarily demote, reinstate, or be on an SROA list or designated Surplus.  All application will be considered; only the most qualified will be interviewed.
