Under the general direction of the Audit Supervisor of the Motor Carrier Office, Special Taxes Audit and Carrier Division, the incumbent performs the full journey level field audits. The incumbent should be familiar with word processing and spreadsheet personal computer programs or be willing to learn how to use them. The incumbent should be familiar with, or be prepared to learn, IFTA Articles of Agreement, IFTA Procedures Manual, IFTA Audit Manual, Diesel Fuel Tax Law and other Board laws and procedures applicable to the IFTA audit program. The incumbent will be preparing correspondence involving the taxpayers and a varied group of representatives from government and private industry, related to California’s IFTA program. The incumbent will be developing and producing reports, schedules, pamphlets, and manuals, and performing studies. The incumbent may be required to travel less than 50% of the work time, primarily to in-state locations. Limited term position has the possibility of becoming permanent.
