The Board of Equalization, Customer Service and Publishing Division is looking for a Business Taxes Representative (BTR) to work in the Customer Service Center. The Customer Service Center responds to over 600,000 calls and 20,000 e-mails per year, providing customers and taxpayers with information on a wide range of tax areas covering sales and use taxes, 25 special tax areas (environmental, hazardous waste, recycling, etc.) and property taxes. The BTR will provide technical advice in writing and verbally to employees and taxpayers concerning the programs administered by the Board of Equalization (BOE). They will assign, review and track the work of Tax Technicians. In addition, they will assist with the development and training of others. The position is located in BOE’s branch office location in the Culver City area of Los Angeles. Travel will be required for this position, initial training will consist of several weeks of overnight travel, and subsequent training may require overnight travel for up to a week per training session. This position may become permanent if funding is approved. Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. Training and development assignments may be considered. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
