The reporting location for this position is the District Maintenance Shop located in Lake Perris State Recreation Area. This position will work under the direction of the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist of the On-Going Maintenance Program. The Park Maintenance Chief I (Permanent Intermittent), District Services, has the primary responsibility for statewide facility maintenance, and facilitating projects at the District level. This includes the statewide housing funds, Minor and Major Capital Outlay implementation for the Service Centers, Category I, and special funds and grants. This position will lead and direct implementation of special projects requested by District staff. Extended travel is expected; eight day work assignments and ten hour work days are normal. Work is expected to be in remote locations and may involve spike camps, temporary living quarters and/or seasonal housing. This position may work up to 1500 hours per year.
