The reporting location for this position is the Calaveras Sector Office in Columbia. This position will work under the direction of the Sector Superintendent. The Sector Maintenance Chief I plans, directs, organizes, and schedules the maintenance program for the Sector, which includes trails, reservoirs, historic buildings, residential housing, and concession operated buildings. This position has the supervisory responsibilities for permanent, seasonal, and special program crews at six park units. Responsibilities include budgeting of Cat 1, Roads, Housing, seasonal allocations, project funds, and managing the MAXIMO, VUR, and property programs. This position will be the liaison with contractors, vendors, special interest groups, and government agencies for maintenance projects. This position will be responsible for writing and reviewing contracts, project agreements, interagency agreements, and environmental documents. This position is the perfect opportunity for the highly organized person looking to grow their experience by directing the maintenance operations for Calaveras Big Trees State Park, Columbia State Historic Park, Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park, Caswell Memorial State Park, Bethany Reservoir State Recreation Area, and Turlock Lake State Recreation Area. Contracting experience and organizational skills are highly desirable. State housing may be available.
